I DON'T NEED LOVE LOOKING LIKE DIAMONDS

OMG YOU SHOULD TOTALLY READ THIS WHOLE THING CAUSE REALLY IT'S NOT AS LONG AS IT LOOKS. so ashley's secret is 'i broke up with him because i'm afraid to hurt him' and ' i drink to get away from the pain.’ She’s 18, senior at michael’s prep and has a twin brother, Shane Ryan who also goes to michael’s prep. He’s on the hockey team, and his girlfriend, jenn, died in a car crash and he blames himself for his death. He could have been captain of the team, but after missing so many practices due to jenn’s death, being captain was out of the question. And that’s pretty much all you need to know to read this.
So we'll call the boy, boy.
alright so here we go.

Ashley and boy meet during the summer before their junior year, instant connection, yaddayaddayadda, they end up hangout all summer long and getting to know each other really well. Boy goes to hitsburgh, but that's alright with her, and they manage to put the school rivalries aside and make it work but they keep their relationships a secret from their friends, family etc cause they don't want anyone interfering or trying to break them up.

Shane never finds out about this relationship because he's away at hockey camps/Ashley and boy plan it really well to avoid him. Boy is captain of the hitsburgh's hockey team, so there's the obvious rivalry and jealousy between him and shane, but they also hate each other because boy hooked up with jenn, when shane and jenn were on one of their breaks. Shane obviously didn’t like this, even though they weren’t actually dating at the time, and considered it cheating. Shane found out about it and was pissed about it so he confronted jenn about it, and basically they had a huge fight about it and that was the night jen died.

Ashley knows shane would be beyond upset/pissed if he ever found out that ashley and boy were together in any way. when school starts again ashley decides to break it off with boy because she doesn't want any fights between boy and shane, even though it kills her to do it. Now whenever she goes out, she always drinks a little too much to help her forget about him.

Obviously shane knows something is wrong, they're twins, but he heard a rumor a while back that ashley and boy had a thing a while ago, but he never asks her about it because he doesn't want to hear the truth. So he just tries to pretend that the drinking's a phase and always makes sure she's okay whenever she does drink.

Eventually shane will ask about the rumor he heard, and as for ashley’s and boy’s relationship now but we can figure it all out if someone takes thi =)
